JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in furthering their interior design experience within a small but very creative design firm. Wearing multiple hats, you would be working side by side with both the Principal, and Lead Interior Designer with full immersion into projects in all stages, and have the opportunity to be educated first hand by a wealth of industry knowledge with a team very fun-loving and passionate in their craft.  

We  are looking for someone who is a team player that is willing to take on small and large tasks alike, is a self-starter, initiative take, forward thinker and can multitask with the ability to work both a team and independent working environment 

DURATION: Part-time (15-30 hours / week)

LOCATION: In- office at the Flatron location of Manhattan mixed with some remote and job site visits.

SALARY:  Salary range - $15 - $40 per hour. Salary depends on experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must have work Visa in the USA

  • Applicants must be NYC - based and able to travel to the CLDG office and sites. In-studio-office work required. At home work can be done from time to time. Flexible work schedule within the work day.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school. 

  • Open to discussing this opportunity with an interior design student in the final years of school.

  • Knowledge of Auto-CAD and/or Revit, Photoshop, Power Point, Sketch Up and Enscape/Twinmotions knowledge is a plus. Some work experience is great but not required. 

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling information and documentation and have a skillset and motivation to take ownership of projects and see them from start through installation. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Must be organized, punctual, highly motivated, flexible and have excellent verbal and written communication skills within the company and vendors.

  • Must be proficient in English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writing samples will be required.

  • Professional references and work samples will be requested.

  • Experience and exposure to both design and construction processes and workflows.


    Your Responsibilities:

  • Drafting millwork, floorplans, elevations and ability to produce rendered images, and diagrams.

  • Work with the administrative assistant and design team to prepare for client meetings, including presentation creation, sample ordering and organization of necessary files.

  • Database Management, data entry and daily upkeep of spreadsheets and files.

  • Keeping the studio library up to date and organized including labeling of finishes and samples.

  • Collaborate with Admin to Track orders: request quotes and information from vendors, maintain updated information and keep filed and updated in client folders

  • Make purchases and ensure items are completed in good manner and communicated properly both internally and externally according to company guidelines and protocols.

  • Source and specify FFE (furniture, lighting, vendors, materials, etc) for designers approvals.

  • Maintain FFE schedules and prepare documentation for installs.

  • Organize and maintain the storage of client/project materials.

  • Taking meeting notes and properly documenting and filing notes from client and internal calls.

  • Basic ability to assemble furniture, hang artwork and prop styling skills. 

General Duties:
● Produce client proposals using Google Presentation
● Maintain general knowledge regarding client budget
● Ability to clearly communicate ideas verbally and in writing both internally and externally
● Assist Project Lead with appropriate project priorities and deadlines

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our design  organization as an Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the day-to-day operations of our firm, ensuring smooth administrative processes and efficient communication. Your contributions will directly impact our daily processes to achieve our goals of beautiful design, and good relationships with our vendors and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the principal and design team and other staff members, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, sample ordering and receiving, meeting prep

  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of reports, presentations, and other documents as required for meetings

  • Maintain and update organizational databases, contact lists, and filing systems, client folders, ensuring accuracy of information.

  • Assist with office financials, this may include processing invoices, tracking expenses, and generating financial reports for accountant / billing purposes. 

  • Conduct research on relevant topics, compile information, and prepare summaries for internal and client presentations.

  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams, contractors and vendor partners, fostering effective communication and relationship-building.

  • Provide general office support, such as answering phone calls, managing principals emails, responding to inquiries, ordering office supplies, managing packages, labeling and filing of samples, shipments.

  • Personal assistant tasks will be included in this role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be proficient in English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writing samples will be required.

  • Must have work Visa in the USA

  • Proven experience in administrative support roles

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, and ask questions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling information and documentation.

  • Software Proficiency in Google Office Suite (photoshop experience a plus), as well as a strong ability to use technology.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendor relations

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • Passion for design is a plus, but not required. 

  • Must be a problem solver and independent self starter

  • Ability to carry objects/furniture more than 40 lbs
